Project Overview
Several years after I graduated from Foothill High School, the director of its Music Program reached out requesting a new logo that would align with the school’s overarching brand identity yet distinguish the department as a premier, creatively driven offering. The goal was to reflect the high quality and artistry of the music program while maintaining a cohesive visual connection to the broader Foothill brand.

Design Process
From my introductory meeting I knew the client preferred an understated style that still references music, but allows the logo to speak for itself. This guided my sketches towards a custom script that drew inspiration from musical symbols.
Version 1
The client was very happy with the overall direction, but felt that the ‘s’ was too busy compared to the other two letters.
I addressed this by using the simpler form of a bass clef as the foundation for the ‘s’
